Open, open to all. FIDE rated.
Amateur, open to players rated under 1800.
All:
Entry Fee: $81 if received by 9-1, $97 at door. U1400 or unrated EF: $66 by 9-1, $80 door. (May play in either section)
Registration: 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday 9-3 (3-day), 8:30-9:30 a.m.. 9-4 (2-day).
3-day schedule: Time control 40/2, then SD/1. Rounds 10:30-5 Saturday 9-3, 10:30-5 Sunday 9-4, 10-4:30 Monday 9-5.
2-day schedule: Rounds 1 -3 time control G/60. Rounds 10-12:15-2:30 Sunday 9-4, then merges with 3-day.
Up to two half-point byes allowed in rounds 1-4 if requested with entry
USCF membership required of all players. SCCF membership required of rated Southern California residents ($14 regular, $9 junior).
Hotel rates: $89. (310) 410-4000. Be sure to mention chess. (Reserve by August 26 or rates may rise.) Parking $6/day.
