Prove
myself "not to be scum" . . .
If I wish to "engage in discourse with decent people." I
see.
I
shall try and do that. I hope that I will come across as "not
scum" when I say:
I
am a family man with three grown children, four grand children.
From
being a Boy Scout, to Student Body President of my high school, to
serving in various civic organizations, (Legal Aid, ACORN, Boy Scouts
of America, my church Board of Directors, & last year I was
certified as a state ombudman inspector for nursing homes and senior
assisted living accomadations), I have tried to give of myself to my
fellow human beings.
This
"scum" was in Youth For Christ all through middle school and high
school. Below is a picture a few months ago from our school reunion
website, of me with the leader of our city's Youth For Christ back
then, Dick Jensen. I was so happy to work with Jensen over the years,
going back to the 1960's middle school days..
After that
period, Jensen when on to work with the Billy Graham crusade for many
years, and although recently retired as a Journalism Professor
he continues his work in civic causes.
Dick
and I both, in addition to being journalists in the mainstream media,
have both served our community in a variety of organizations, www.firstfound.us/whoweare.htm
Jensen
is President of First Foundations, Inc. Our history together and
separate is to do good work striving for justice for our fellow man.
Sometime
(like now ) we take an unpopular stand. I was with Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr. in St. Augustine in 1967, when he got arrested.
I
have been active in civil rights, and even in protection of gay
rights. Although the latter is highly unpopular here in the Bible belt
of the south.
In
my work I have been called insulting names & threatened by the
likes of you John -- & also Jerry Hanken off and on. Hanken
threatened to kill me twice personally, and one
time he told me he was going to arrange for someone else to do it!
These threats were made during our October phone call last year.
He
was screaming, yelling and sputtering, gasping for breath so bad, I
thought he was going to pass out. I even put the phone up to my little
kitty cat's ear, and she jumped up and ran out of the room!
I
will be prepared to meet any threats as I arrive at the US Open this
year.
I
have been to the gun range, and remain sharp in my weapon skills
Five
members of my family, are in local law enforcement, my brother retired
a few months ago. I will borrow this bullet proof vest.
Hanken
has threatened to kill four different people on four different
occasions that I know about so far.

it was three years later that Dennis Barry's body was discovered, and
few think Hanken had anything to do with the actual killing, despite
his threats. But his well documented threats are certainly meant by
Hanken, to be taken seriously.
Hanken
today remains the only CJA officer ever censured by the USCF Board.

John, you call me scum . . . Well when I show up at the US Open . . .
Try saying that to my face!
I
will show you!
NOT
by threatening to kick your ass, as Jerry Hanken* threatened
GM Larry Evans; but I will show you by trying my best
to do the right thing!
I
won't run on . . . But Dillinger is coming!
The
days of trying to NOT publish some candidate's campaign statements, to
Not have access to any CJA financial records, to keep secret any
binding motions passed by the CJA Ex. Board, to fill some comm.
positions in secret, etc. are numbered!
